Chaos

It feels like it was long ago, but no its not,
The smoke has cleared, and so has the way,
The same face remains, yet I see it very differently,
There are those moments which still bring back smiles,
And there are others, lost in the mist of happiness,
Many say you were wrong, but yet I stand- unmoved,
Things have changed a lot, but some have remained the same,
But there remain some mysteries to unearth,
Some questions to answer; some knots left to undo,
Is it a sign of the replenished good or the recurring bad,
Just a co-incidence as I’ve called it always,
Or a sign of disorder heading my way; with the strange silence,
Everything’s gone ahead, with time, and so have we,
There’s more than a hint of recognition as our eyes meet,
The handshake is different; the look on the face is different,
The emotion isn’t seen, just like old times; and I don’t care,
I smile to myself; I smile for myself, distinct and strong,
Its turmoil for one, and an answer for another,
Just witchcraft- always about creating life out of chaos.

Walk Away

Time has moved on quite a lot,
We've come so far from where we started,
And we sure have got a long way to go,
Mountains in between, piled so high,
And valleys- dark, deep, dangerous,
There were flashes in between, the rest being void,
A dirty splash of darkness spread all around,
Yet the sun shone through, in the form of you,
I wish it were all so different today,
You would be my sun, my star, my light,
Or do I,
I smile at your thought; I’m weak on seeing your face,
I cry when I see the moon, waiting just like me,
Miracles go wrong, and mistakes fall into place,
That’s just you and me, I guess,
Here I am smiling, walking into the new light,
Shadows stretching till the darkness,
I turn for a last glance, eyes gazing at the end of the tunnel,
A speck of light dancing, a weird buzz coming through,
Till I see your face, and my lips take your name,
Only till I walk away.

The Waterfall

I’m going through the yellowed pages,
The ink sodden and blurred, yet the words alive,
The images come back from the crevices they were shut into,
The photo frames shine in the spotlight,
Back on the stand where they stood in their time,
Memories unearthed from the moments misplaced,
I had those thoughts once upon a time, of reverie and fun,
Till the dusk shone down with its cruel hand of darkness,
Nightmares galore and silences aplenty,
I stood under the clouds showering me in their tears,
As I shed my sorrow, driven by the moist midst,
It was a rage of emotion, sculpted in subtle means,
Torrents and tumults altogether in the tempest,
It was a way, it was a path; it was a road in the dark,
Left alight by the brief flashes, just enough to glance,
The wind swirled and the river curled,
The spray spellbindingly cold on my hot skin,
I was flowing through my self, just in another form,
Running from one place to another, trying to get a grip,
Colliding with one side, and then the other,
Till it all knocked me out cold,
It was just an odd buzz in my ear, loud yet so far away,
I shook away the darkness only to see the bottom,
I knew the moment had come, it was inevitable,
I knew about the steep fall coming my way, but not so soon,
I was at the top of the waterfall, and the only way was down.

A Day To Forget

There is always the good,
There is always the bad,
It’s always black and white, never grey,
Lest the smog creeps in with time,
Veils over words, blankets over meanings,
It’s all but a maze of understanding,
The void of peace betrayed, hurt but not destroyed,
The joint hands of trust, pulling away not apart,
Angry pests and unbelieving leeches sucking blood,
Droplets turning into trickles, too less for the pain,
I pull one off, to find two more, let alone the table,
The last supper unseen, hidden in plain sight, also reasons,
I have with you so many memories, not one is not special,
But today, some moments to drown in our tears,
And today might be just a day to forget.

Final Destination

I sit under the stars praying for just a glimpse,
To hear your pretty voice calling out my name,
To feel you beside me, your hands slipping into mine,
And your hands in my hair as I drifted off,
Your smile a ray of hope in the mist of my life,
I stare out the window; I rush out at every crossing,
I search for you wherever I halt, and I don’t stop,
The journey made me chug forward,
Billowing steam and couplets together,
I wait to follow you, just like you did then,
Just a piece falling into place, a picture coming to life,
We were a train which left the platform together,
Our journey has taken us through ways unknown,
But will we reach our final destination together?
