Doubt Of Existence

Can you hear those whispers,
Those words echoing in your ears,
Playing through the darkness,
Weaving through the silence,
I said it once, just for you.

Now there isn’t a thing, anything,
Just an empty vortex of the past,
Memories and a maze of moments,
I look through it to find just you,
If you had to leave, then why did you come?

I refrain myself from regret,
It’s strange, the feeling inside me,
A blitz of sorrow with the rage of revenge,
There are steps which I can take, but shouldn’t,
Nothing will separate me from them, and you?

You took the happiness, you took the smiles,
You took innocence, you took their laughter,
In your name it occurs, righteous sacrifice,
To avenge your name they say,
Is it you who wants the blood, or is it them?

We are trying to fight, to prevent,
But your name is like Wonka’s golden ticket,
Sacrifice, to not eat, nor drink,
Not speak, not laugh, nor enjoy those colors,
To not see the butterflies on the flowers,
To not smell the nectar, to not taste the fruit,
To not share the vivid colors of life,
Why would you give it to us if you didn’t want us to experience?

In your name they do, they preach, they teach,
I whispered your name, for strength,
Prayed to you, for the world to be a better place,
They kill, for you they say, they shed sacred blood,
Yet you cause them no harm,
Are they too little to see, dastardly pests,
Or are they right, and what they do is your wish,
Or is ignorance bliss,
It’s your world and we are just the pawns,
You are the king, and the queen, the master,
But when the innocent suffer, in vain,
I doubt your existence.

Little Coffins

As the sun dips,
Returning to its abode,
The smoke continues rising,
And the odor too,
The structure barely standing,
The temple of education destroyed,
And with it the angels too.

Carnage and rampage seem light,
To describe this massacre,
This revenge, meaningless,
Just a growing limb of pain, of death,
Unnecessary loss, to the world,
We want to be ourselves they say,
They slaughter their own, they never say.

They weren’t long into life,
Barely standing above our shoulders,
The future of their nation held on theirs,
As they joked, and they laughed,
They studied, and learnt, to live,
Unaware of the awaiting shadow,
As death walked in, exercise was on their mind.

Time didn’t separate a lot,
The shrieks of joy, changed into terror,
The white floor layered with rivulets of red,
The walls left with the sun spying through them,
Lives taken, forcibly, just cold blooded murder,
Done in the name of God they say,
No God harms His children, they don’t say.

They hadn’t laughed, they hadn’t sung,
They hadn’t seen the colors of life,
And they saw red, before black,
They hadn’t smiled, as much, nor talked,
And they were silenced,
To leave back the tears, in our eyes,
To bring the anger to us,
The smallest coffins are the heaviest to carry.

Provoked

“Blow up the airport,” he proclaimed aloud as the two neighbors held hands and celebrated a new friendship.

With just 10, he created a 10 year war, again.

Amid the gunfire, he announced their neighbor’s involvement in the disaster.

“Break the friendship,” he advised his motherland.

The strengthening bond strained as he smirked to himself.

This is written in view of yesterday’s attack on Karachi. For more, click here and here.

Should Terrorists Be Negotiatied With??

It is true that the human race is at the peak of its success and development. As days pass, the human race continues its progress at a faster rate. But, at the same time, there has also been the presence of regressive and dishonorable activities in this same world. Dark deeds flood this world, and the newspapers are infested with news about murders, rape and terrorism. But the most recent and most dangerous form of crime which has come up on a global scale is terrorism. From the heists of the Somali pirates, to the gruesome bombings by the more organized terrorist groups of al-Qaeda; these crimes have taken a step forward into the world. They work to frighten, threaten and endanger the world. But, is it we who encourage these activities? Do these practices take place due to our nature of letting sleeping dogs lie? Do these happen because governments talk their way out of such situations and the terrorists wants are heard globally?

Yes. This is what I feel is happening. Some issues take place because people want fame, and they want their name to be heard worldwide; they want to leave their mark on the world. And they achieve this by talking about their requests with the host government. Thus, I feel that governments should reduce negotiations with terrorists to great extent in order to cut down on these horrendous incidents.

Some acts of terrorism are done in order to proclaim the wants of people; while some are done to avenge injustice. Some are done to leave a mark on the worldwide populace; while some are done without any concrete motive. Avenging injustice is the job of the judicial system, and no one can overrule their verdict. Any act which disobeys this system should not be subject to the normal rights followed by society as this unlawful deed may pose a giant threat to society. Also, leaving a mark on society through the violent endeavor of terrorism is unjust and should not be tolerated.

If governments resort to negotiations to deal with terrorists, these unlawful deeds will keep cropping up on the global scale as this will appear as an attractive avenue to pose demands to huge governing bodies. The demands which are usually presented comprise of huge amounts of cash or may even involve the release of war criminals! Earning these sums of money takes a lot of time and energy and so does the latter demand, thus there should not be any option for making the decision. The answer is sure to be a no. Then why do governments talk and negotiate with terrorists?  Why are these situations worsened for the hostages or the civilians involved? If the terrorists are subject to a no-win situation in the first place, then why do governments increase the trauma and risk the lives of precious civilians? This act is more unethical, and thus is proclaim that negotiations should not be entertained.

Acts of terrorism usually involve violent methods like killing and holding people hostage. Any action which involves a threat to a person or group of persons is termed to be a crime. Terrorism is one of the most grotesque crimes as it involves the above actions on a larger scale. The average sentence to a murderer is the death penalty; then a person who murders a large number of people at the same time should be subjected to a more intense punishment. Why should their demands be heard at all? Not punishing a wrong-doer is a larger crime in society, then why do governments waste time and stall terrorists by negotiating with them? I feel this should be changed as soon as possible, as terrorism threatens to pose a larger threat as time passes.

The issue which comes up to support the other side is the human rights factor. No person or even government can be allowed to cause harm to another person, thus terrorists are object to the rights of the host country. Thus negotiations have to take place in order to follow the law and to provide justice. But do the terrorists follow these laws? The simple answer is a no. As the terrorists themselves do not follow the laws and rights and work to harm people, then why should they be put forward to the laws? I suggest a just method is to avoid negotiations, and to subject terrorists to their own evil ways.
Stalling terrorists by useless negotiations is a worthless task in my opinion and I feel terrorists are not reasonable people who can or should be negotiated with. This action just works to increase the trauma on the victims and increases the chance of civilians being killed. But, negotiations are practiced all throughout the world and countries promote negotiation teams as well. This is just my opinion and it can differ from person to person.
