Smiles

The laughter withered away in the light so bright,

Washed away in the tears of the gloom,

Our hands left the other in the search of a future,

Memories wound to the bottom of the pit,

Subdued by the moments of pain,

All it took was a second which lasted for days,

All it took was the silence which shouted above the din,

Our castle of cards came down,

The wish to rebuild is an urge strong,

You are an image in the window now left wide open,

Yet I procrastinate, blinking you away,

From my sight, from my mind, but not from heart,
