Liebsters Reloaded...

After a quite elongated delay period, I finally made time to do justice to those who thought me worthy of nominating me for their Liebster Awards. Varun, your latest nomination was the push I needed, and so, here I am with some rules, some new questions, some nominations, and loads of answers. First of all, I would like to thank all those who thought me worthy enough to be nominated for their Liebster Awards (Varun, Ipsita, Aayesha, Sugandha, and Sreesha). Answering so many questions at a go is going to be quite a hassle for me as for the readers, but yes, that is the penance I must pay for delaying this till date.

Let’s just rush through the simple rules, and then I shall answer all the lovely questions.

1. Each nominee must thank and link back the person who nominated them.
2. Answer the 10 questions given to you by the nominator.
3. Nominate 10 other bloggers for this award, and the nominee must have less than 200 followers.
4. Create 10 questions for your nominees to answer.
5. Let the nominees know that they have been nominated by notifying them.

Now getting on to the answers, I would like to start off with Sreesha, whose nomination had come in first.

1. If you had to choose one (only one) out of the following, which one would you choose and why: Books, Travelling, Music, Sports, Video Games, Movies, Food.
   Well, I would go with Books as the answer here, as they have forever enticed me. 
   
2. Holiday destination. Would you choose a place with: Beaches, Lakes, Mountains, Desert or Plains/Fields? Why?
   I would go with beaches. The long walks in the wet sand, the lapping waves, and the cool wind are all soothing for me.
   
3. Which of the following best describes your personality while you were in school/college: Nerd, Class clown, Hottie/Hunk, Friend-to-all, Introvert.
   A nerdy class clown
   
4. If you could go on a date with a celebrity, who would you choose?
   Emma Watson
    
5. What’s your favorite genre of music?
   Rap music with the fast lyrics, and play with words is my favorite.
   
6. What's the most insane thing that you have ever done in your life till date?
   All I do is insane, and I’m called mad by all my friends. But I prefer the word eccentric instead of that. So the maddest thing I’ve done in my opinion is to blow a Diwali bomb in someone’s window (someone who deserved it…:P).
   
7. If you could re-live (and/or change) one day of your life, which one would it be?
   I would like to relive the whole of my childhood, as it has and shall forever remain as the best part of my life.
   
8. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would you change?
   I would like to change my approach towards certain things in life.
   
9. Did you at any point in your life believe the world would end in December 2012?
   No, I did not. Though I did have loads of discussions about it with friends, like how we would save the world and stuff like that…:P ;)
   
10. 10.  School or college? Which one is/was better? Why?
    School!! The young days, running around freely, the absence of ‘politics’ and groups- school days were like this, and they had more. But seeing the other side, college is fun as well!!

Phew, so I’m done finally with Sreesha’s questions, and now let me move on to Ipsita’s questions.

1. Three words that describe you the best.
   Young, insomniac, happy
   
2. Tea or Coffee?
   Coffee
   
3. Name one feature in you that you don't like. Could be physical, emotional, psychological, whatever.
   My response to certain situations is bad
   
4. If you could travel anywhere in the world and money was no object, where would you go and why?A secluded island with some greenery, and loads of beaches. I would choose such a location as beaches work to soothe and de-stress me.
   
5. What's the first word/thing that comes to your mind when I say 'rain'?
   The smell of the wet sand
   
6. Mountains or Sea?
   Sea
   
7. Your take on First love? Do you believe that first love, like every first, is special?
   Every love is special, and the first one is just a bit more.
   
8. The next thing on your to-purchase list?
   A cycle
   
9. Why do you blog?
   I blog as it works to chill me out while at the same time I can learn as well.
   
10. The one thing that you would like to change about your city?
    The pollution

Lovely short questions, but with a lot of depth in them. Now starting with Aayesha’s 10.

   Insomniac

   Winning my first Blog Award
   
3. Definition of an ideal partner according to you?
   A partner is someone who knows and understands you very well, and is always there in your heart.
   
4. Items on your bucket list?
   Publishing a book, swimming with fish in the corals, and flying a helicopter
   
5. What is the thing you do at the end of your day just before going to bed?
   Switching off the internet…;) :P
   
6. Anything that you would want to change about yourself?
   I would like to change my approach towards certain things in life.
   
7. Do you agree with popular belief that a man is ruled by his head and a woman by her heart?
   No, I wouldn’t agree to this as I have seen the vice versa happen in real life
   
8. Beauty, brains, wealth… rank these in order of importance to you? Why?
   A lovely question. Wealth and beauty would be useless without the presence of brains. So that comes first. Then I would go with beauty, followed by wealth. I do not know how to explain it, but it is just a feeling I have.
   
9. Which color / animal / bird reflects your personality?
   I have no idea whatsoever about this, so I would be unable to answer you.
   
10. What according to you is the problem most of the youths face today?
    Lethargy and the absence of a will to work hard.

   Kerala, and its beaches- God’s own country.

   Listening to music

   Fiction. Non-fictional stuff makes me doze off…:3

   For me, it’s the beach

   I have a dialogue reserved for such people, “Go home, you are drunk.”

So here is a very very long post, with 50 questions, and after doing this, I’m exhausted and I am off to sleep. But hey! There is something more I have to do. 10 nominations, and 10 more questions, now from my side.

So now, I’m laughing at this lame attempt at humor, and after almost a couple of thousand words, I end this long post about Liebster Awards, and I await some answers…:D

Liebster Moment!!

It’s been quite a while since I have posted something on my blog (for me a week is too much..:P). Not that I’ve lost interest but “Hey, Student life is tough!” I’ve spent the last couple of weeks working perennially on a competition which awaits me this Friday, and co-incidentally, this week is also host to college prelims.

So I decided to spend sometime today away from work, to just blog, and this good news welcomed me. Vidhi nominated my blog for a Liebster Award! Now isn’t that cool! Thank You for that Vidhi! And as I’ve told you before, your nail art is damn awesome.

So here is how Liebster Award works:

a)      You answer the 10 questions that your nominator gave you

b)      After that you nominate 10 other people who have less than 200 followers and link them in your post

c)      You think of 10 new questions for the nominees to answer

d)     You let them know you’ve nominated them so they can post their response/questions.

This is just an exercise to allow bloggers to know each other better, and I hope this does justice to the objective (Please excuse my lingo for some days, it’s just an overdose of writing speeches for debates).

So the questions which Vidhi has asked me are:

1.      Who is your favorite blogger?

I love reading, and as days have gone by, I have got into the act of reading blogs instead of books and newspapers. Not that I have any favorites as such, but there is a blog whose post I wish to see every time I log in to read stuff. And that is Nitesh Sir. His blog Mysay.in has slowly displaced my newspaper habit as it keeps me updated with the latest news of the nation in a fun way which is good to read.

2.      What is your favorite food?

I love eating. Period. I would enjoy eating any spicy eatable, but it is fast food which attracts me most. And being a Mumbai-ite, it’s the Mumbai street food which is the best for me! Hot vada-pavs, and the buttery pav bhaji, and the samosas. Slurp! That made my mouth water!

3.      What is the craziest thing you have ever done?

There are many crazy things I have done, but I could count this as the craziest. Around 5-6 years ago, there was some problem in the phone (At that time there were those big landlines). I had to make a call to my friend about a project and it was very urgent as well. The repair guy informed us that it would take him some time before he could drop in to check the phone.

Young and crazy, I decided to take down the phone in order to check the problem and to try to repair it. The day ended with the handset going in the bin (somehow I could not manage to close it again). Maybe that was the moment I decided to become an engineer..:P

4.      Your favorite romantic comedy?

I must bow my head down to say that I do not enjoy romantic comedies at all. Movies mean speed, action, bullets, tanks, and detectives to me, and that’s my preferred genre.

5.      What would you buy someone gave you unlimited money?

Now there’s a whole list. Most of the items in this list would be the creations of technology which would include a supercomputer and some automobiles.

6.      Which is the outfit that you loved in the past but hate it now?

I used to wear sports jerseys, and I used to wear them a lot. I hate them now, with all the flimsy material, and the slippery stuff.

7.      Do you blog for fun or is it your career?

I blog just to freshen up. Writing is my passion, and I use it just for recreation.

8.      Do you believe in ghosts?

Not at all. It’s just our imagination.

9.      Who would you like as your blogging partner?

I prefer being alone when I write stuff, but I am always open to ideas. So any one who is open and who shares his/her honest opinion with me would be perfectly fine.

10.  Do you like giveaways? Do you participate in any?

A very good question. I have always thought of expanding my blog to hold contests and to host giveaways as well. I hope to soon start on that as well.

I love to participate in any contest, especially if it concerns writing, so yeah, I am a one for taking part in giveaways.
