Reasons

The puzzles of time are too divine to comprehend,
It’s an anagram of the past, yet a synonym of the future,
A tale written in letters so different from each other,
In colors so vivid, a spectrum of hues clustered,
The beginning is always so strange and subtle,
An aura of mystery lining the prophecies made,
People so similar and people so different,
Bend under the force, irrespective, or they don’t,
Its two smiles at the finish, with many more to come,
Or a river flowing, tracing a new path in the sand,
We stood so close, we stood as one,
Yet far enough to hold the both of us upright,
Fighting the storms, and rowing through the whirlpools,
We savor the still seas as they pass by,
We have a reason to stand by; we have a reason to believe,
To wait, to feel, and to allow the hands of time to race ahead,
Everything’s so tough till it’s hidden in the bag,
And then it’s just a walk in the park.

Jumbled

There was a puzzle, with all its pieces shuffled,
Till the new day rose with a sun so bright,
Mysteries solved and conundrums corrected,
The light was you, a star in the dying night,
A rage to run afar, a fire to race ahead,
It was a hand to lead, a map for the mirage,
I tried to push away, afraid to consume the light,
Only to lose the way in the dark,
It wasn’t a hand to leave; it wasn’t a heart to bereave,
A mistake to let those eyes blink,
To blur in the veil of sorrow, dripping slowly,
Some things to change, small, yet meaning so much more,
Large distances to cover, to hold back the breaking land,
It’s all but a reason, a gift to savor for life,
A heart to store and never give back, nor mine to take,
A promise and a dream, never to break,
Just a smile, your smile, something to see forever,
All with a hand, never to leave, here to stand, just for you.

Pretense

There comes a day when the maze clears,
There comes a day when there are no fears,
Everything's clear like the summer sky,
It’s just like a dream- to chase, to soar, to fly,
I know what I felt in the days gone by,
It’s still there, but just not as high,
Watching through the thicket, waiting for time,
For the precise moment, just not enough to be sublime,
It was all a thought, a feeling, a feeble cry from the heart,
But it was just me; I forgot you played a part,
It hurt like hell- still does, yet it cleaned the past,
I’ve lost memories and scars alike, not smiles,
I never had thought that it could all happen so fast,
It’s a clean slate now I guess, not so clear though,
The dust is setting in the ridges; it’s starting to flow,
I want to smile, yet I want to lament in the pain,
It’s just a feeling of absence, just a bit to refrain,
I want to hide the whole of me; the now empty box is tempting,
Pretense is the game I wish to play,
Lest for a wish too strong, for a face, for a smile.
