The silence is so unnerving,
Our words unsaid passing through our eyes,
A pause in time so long, so hurtful,
A million expressions gone awry,
Thoughts spilling out early yet so true,
Your face in the past but clear,
Our hands were one someday,
But not now, not today,
Not a figment of my haunted imagination,
Nor a speck dark in memory,
Our picture scrambled, a jigsaw it is now,
It all happened in just a fraction,
The moment unfortunate that we fell apart.
