Demons

It’s been a road so rough,

I’ve been wrecked and broken,

And I have risen as well,

There’s been day and night,

But there’s always been light,

Not guidance perhaps, but a plan,

The suns been up lately,

There’s the silence I prefer,

The corners, the niches of life,

The nooks and the crevices,

I’ve been away from the world,

But closer to myself I say,

Dark horse I feel like, not black beauty,

Duty I am of myself, not anyone else’s,

A shadow of myself I am not,

I am just myself,

Good entirely I am not,

Darkness is just my virtue,

I am what I am,

This is what my life is, a figure so huge,

I smile for myself, not you,

Here I stand, with myself so strong,

This is where my demons lie.

A Brother Of The Night's Watch

I lay awake in the darkness,

Battling while the world sleeps,

Peace it is for them,

But for me, nothing,

As I fight, the urge to doze off,

As it consumes me, whole,

Yes it does, this war of thoughts,

As I wait with my sword,

Pen though I must say,

Mightier it is, and sharper too,

With the words raining down,

I’m just a silhouette,

An outline in the shadows,

I’m a part of the Black,

Waiting my turn, to rage forward,

And to engage the enemy,

Till I am taken down,

To rise again with the sun,

To be reborn the next morn,

With the new son, and new dreams,

New wishes, new thoughts,

But I shall remain truly a brother,

A brother of the night’s watch.

Bat

Upturned he is found,

Locates with ultrasound,

Takes a low swoop to gorge.

Prey

At the stroke of midnight, he hobbled in on his wooden leg. A shadow in the mist with malice in his eyes, and a void in his heart.

She slithered over the harbor, hidden in the background. Towards her love, nay a ripple in the silence.

She kissed him from behind, and down he fell.
