So Less Without You

The edge of the envelope cracks open slowly,
Revealing the secrets it holds safe from the world,
The darkness cracks up into shades unseen,
Wisps of hues dance across my sky,
All leaking from the ruptures in the blanket of myself,
Taking shapes so random, the abstract keeps shifting,
I allow myself to bleed, the emotions all seeping out,
It’s not a river, nor a stream, but it’s a volcano strong,
And there you are in the midst of it all,
Arms waving, signaling me, flailed high in the air,
Your welcome smile is a gem for my eyes- precious,
It flickers in front of me and the illusion cracks up,
Yet you hold me together, your hands fisting mine,
The turmoil slowly dying down in the storm of your presence,
You're covered in the sweat raining down my brow, and yet you smile,
Your eyes look me up as I wake from my peaceful slumber,
Your presence is a blessing, and you are a gift of god,
Your arms form a garland around my neck as the thoughts cease,
And I know I am so less without you.
