Togetherness- A Series (Part 1)

It was more than 7 years since they had met. As they sat together in the cool sand, watching the sun go down in a magnificent battle with the spilling of a lot of red, he reached for her hand. Clasping her hand, he turned to face her, only to find her looking right at him. Her deep black eyes gleamed in the picturesque dusk, her long hair danced to the tune of the wind, and her mouth transformed into a smile. Her cheeks flushed red as she noticed his stare, and she shied away and broke the glare.

Slowly touching her cheek, he turned her to face him, and said, "What happened now darling?"

"Why are you staring at me like that?"

"I can't look at you as well?"

"Of course you can Karan. I'm all yours to see. But why suddenly? Falling in love are you?"

"I noticed the gleam in your eyes, and the slight wink clearly, but yes I have to concede gravely that yes, I am falling in love with you all over again. Nothing stops me from doing that in the universe, Niki."

"And no one or nothing can stop your cheap flirty remarks and the filmy dialogues as well. Now should we head home? We don't want dad firing away at you already."

"Thank you sweetheart, but let's just sit here for 5 more minutes. And there's still sometime more till we talk to our parents. Just some months."

"How long Karan? Its 5 years since we are together love, let’s just make our relationship permanent and official."

"I just need sometime honey. Just some months, sweetheart. Don’t spoil your mood Niki. Let’s have your favorite gola, and then we'll head home. Now give me a smile, fast..."

Getting up in a jiffy, he hoisted up Niki and they slowly traipsed to the famous gola stand at Girgaum Chowpatty. They had never ever missed eating this cold savory on their dates to this scenic place, and they would not do it now.

As they both enjoyed the cool ice going down their throats, they both were immersed deep into their thoughts. Still holding hands, they continued down the aisle towards their destination.
